If you would like to start therapy with me, feel free to contact me by email or phone, listed on the Contact page.
Please let me know:
If you would prefer a 15-minute free consultation, or if you would like to start therapy with a full 50-minute appointment
A brief summary of some of the concerns bringing you to therapy at this time and what your goal(s) for therapy might be (and it's okay to not be sure of what your goals might be. We can talk about this in our first session)
Your first and last name, date of birth, and the best way to contact you
What is a Free 15-Minute Consultation? A 15-minute consultation is a brief phone call to answer any question you might have and form an initial idea of what you hope to get from therapy. From there, we can mutually decide if we are a good fit to engage in therapy together.
What Can I Expect from My First Full Appointment?
We'll go over some logistical things such as the forms I provided you around confidentiality, consent, and tele/videocounselling.
We will address what our roles and expectations are for counselling
Address consent and confidentiality
Get deeper into what brought you to therapy
How Long and How Much is Therapy?
Every psychotherapy appointment is 50 minutes in length (which is considered 1 clinical hour). The fee addresses our time together in session, time needed to prepare for the session, record keeping, etc.
While psychotherapy is not covered by OHIP, some employee assistance programs (EAPs) and insurance plans reimburse the cost of therapy (or partially) by a Registered Psychotherapist. Ask your provider if you are covered.
My rate is $150 per clinical hour and payment is required by the end of the appointment. Therapy sessions longer than the normal clinical hour, and extra telephone consultations, will be billed accordingly.
If you have to change the appointment or cancel please provide me with 24 hours notice
